Darren Goldwater

Darren Goldwater is a Play-by-play Announcer, Host and Digital Content Producer with over 20 years-experience broadcasting NCAA athletics at the network and regional levels. In addition to regular-season work, he's routinely called Championship and post-season tournament events with CBS Sports, ESPN, NCAA DII and others.

Goldwater showcased his versatility during the COVID shutdown by creating and launching the successful daily live digital sports program, JB and Goldwater. The video stream and podcast is solely produced and directed by Goldwater, who also manages the social media channels while simultaneously co-hosting the program and live-tweeting about the show.

Previously, Goldwater was the lead TV voice for the Southern Conference, calling the league's top football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, lacrosse, softball and volleyball games on regional television and ESPN3 for five years. He is also the Owner/Producer of Nelwater Sports, a demo reel production service specializing in television and radio reels for sports broadcasters.

Before his career in sports television, Goldwater spent three years as the Director of Broadcasting for The Citadel Sports Network, where he was solely responsible for all radio broadcasts, sales and production for more than 80 annual events. He also worked six years for the ESPN Radio affiliate in Charleston, SC as the Sports Marketing Director and afternoon drive co-host/producer.

Goldwater graduated from Penn State in 2002 with a degree in journalism. He and his wife, Heather, live in Charleston, SC with their daughter, Grayson, and their mix-breed mut, JoJo.
